Four Kentucky men charged in NE robbery

Four Kentucky men are in a Panhandle District Courtroom on Robbery charges Today. Fifty-six year old Robert Murphy, 32-year-old Michael Palma, 31-year-old Vester Burgin and 21-year-old Martin Noel are all charged with felony robbery for allegedly robbing a man of $1,500 in a truck stop parking lot in Sidney on July 31.
According to the arrest affidavit, the four men apparently tricked the victim into going between two trucks to see a motorcycle when the group closed in around him and took his money. The group was eventually caught that afternoon on Highway 19 a mile north of the Colorado-Nebraska line.
The suspects were originally charged with felony theft by deception and conspiracy to commit theft by deception. At Monday’s preliminary hearing, the judge found enough evidence to bind the amended charges over to District Court for today?s arraignment.
All four men have been released on bond.
