Nebraska picked second in Big 12 Volleyball

The Nebraska Cornhusker volleyball team was picked to finish second in the Big 12 preseason poll released on Thursday.
Texas received 10 of a possible 11 votes, with Kansas State earning the other.  Texas and Nebraska were Co-2007 champs after tying for the title with 19-1 league records.
The Huskers, coming off a 30-2 season, saw four All-Americans leave the squad, while the Longhorns, return four All-America preseason picks and bring in the No. 2-ranked class of freshmen in the country.
Nebraska did not receive any first place votes because coaches can’t vote for their own teams, so Texas coach Jerritt Elliot gave his vote to K-State.  The Wildcats are picked third just four points behind NU, while Texas A & M and Missouri round out the top five.
