Scholarship offered to students who want to stay

A new scholarship is being created aimed at seniors who want to stay in the state following graduation and become leaders in their community. The Scholarship includes money to send at least one student to Wayne, Peru, and Chadron state colleges. Nebraska State College System Chancellor Stan Carpenter says an essay will be required.
“I think having a student write an essay on why they want to live in Nebraska will help solidify for them their desire to return to their hometown to to stay in Nebraska.”
The student will need to meet SAT and ACT requirements and will only pay for part of the tuition cost.
