Six Nebraska lakes have e-coli bacteria

People who use six lakes in Nebraska need to be extra careful.  Health officials say they have high levels of e-coli bacteria.  Those lakes have been identified as Branched Oak, Cub Creek 12-A, Holmes, Lewis and Clark, Pawnee and Swan Creek 5-A.  The lakes are ok to swim in but people are advised not to accidently drink any of that water.  It apparently has no affect on pets.  This is different that the toxic blue-green algae problem that has surfaced in the past few years in parts of the state.
