There is an e-mail scam making the rounds saying a hit man has been hired to terminate the life of the recipient unless they pay the extortion. Three people in Central Nebraska have received the e-mail so far. Jason Probasco with the Nebraska State Patrol says the e-mail requests about $6,000 and gives payment contact information. The victim is then told not to tell anyone of the e-mail including the police, family or friends. They are told they are being watched and not to go outdoors until the situation has been resolved. Probasco says no one has fallen victim to the scam but reminds residents not to open unsolicited e-mails. If someone opens it, contact the police.
