The Kearney National team is 0-2 in the opening round of the Little League World Series Midwest Regional in Indianapolis this weekend. Kearney is in the sixth and last spot in the standings with the top four teams advancing.
Kearney lost on Saturday, their opening game, a tough 3-2 loss to Coon Rapids, Minnesota. On Saturday, the team suffered another one run loss losing to Cherokee Community of Kansas 9-8. They have an off day Monday and will then take on Urbandale Iowa at 7:30 on Tuesday and conclude opening round play Wednesday afternoon against Columbia, Missouri.
