Those planning a trip to the Omaha metro area may want to watch their speed. During August, the Nebraska State Patrol, Omaha Police and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will be watching for those exceeding the speed limit. The goal is to reduce the number of car accidents and the number of people killed or injured on area roads. They will be focusing especially on Highway 75, I-680, 72nd Street and Sorenson Parkway. Extra enforcement will also be seen on Maple and Dodge Streets in Omaha.
The extra enforcement will run for seven days throughout August. Those days have not been announced to the public.
