Two Lincoln fire fighters are being investigated for the possible use of controlled substances intended for patients being treated by Lincoln fire department paramedics. A medical situation at a Lincoln fire station raised a “red flag”. Mayor Chris Beutler says they are gravely disappointed. He indicates that it’s important they they take all responsible steps to protect public. And toward that end Mayor Beutler is proposing random drug testing in the future of lincoln fire fighters. City officials say the two are not currently funtioning as fire fighters as the investigation continues.
