Two little league baseball coaches from Gretna will be sitting the rest of the season out as well as next year. Also, a Gretna man has been banned from attending youth softball and baseball games for two years.
On July 12, Charles Anderson was the umpire at a game when after a play, two coaches sandwiched him between them and argued. Seeing the commotion, 39 year old Jeffrey Johnson attacked Anderson, knocking him to the ground. The decision to ban the coaches and Johnson from attending games was made by the Gretna Youth Softball and Baseball Association. Johnson was also cited for misdemeanor assault. Anderson continues to recover from injuries.
