A Bayard man escaped injury in a tractor vs. train accident Monday. The Nebraska State Patrol says 33-year-old Lance Dickey was driving a farm tractor on a county road two miles east of Bayard when he was struck by a train. Dickey didn’t see the train coming and fortunately wasn?t injured in the accident. Damages are estimated at $900 to the tractor and $500 to the train.
