Saltdogs strip Wingnuts in series finale

Lincoln Saltdogs held off a late Wichita Wingnuts rally for an 8-7 win Sunday night.
Up 4-0, the Saltdogs scored four runs in the fourth, highlighted by Shea McFeely’s bases-loaded double that drove in three.
Lincoln starter Ryan Dittfurth struggled, giving up seven runs on nine hits before being taken out of the game with one out in the bottom of the fifth, but Saltdogs reliever Vince Davis allowed only one hit, that in the fifth, and retired the last 13 batters he faced to pick up the victory.
The Saltdogs have now won six of their last seven games and sit on top of the second-half Northern Division standings.
