Crash kills Papillion teen, injures four others

Grief counselors are at a high school near Omaha today to help people mourning Sunday’s death of a student. Two girls who attended Papillion-La Vista South High School were in the three-vehicle crash just east of Papillion.
Sarpy County authorities say 17-year-old Jessica Dierks died when the car she was riding in was hit by a pickup truck on state Highway 370. A friend of Dierks’, 17-year old Jennifer Kelly, was at the wheel and is in serious condition at Nebraska Medical Center.
The impact pushed Kelly’s car into a third vehicle. Both other drivers and a passenger in the pickup were treated for minor injuries. There’s no word on any charges.
