After falling to the Memphis Redbirds 3-2 in game one, the O-Royals rebounded for a 3-2 win in the second game of their doubleheader. The teams conclude the first half of the PCL season on Sunday afternoon.
In the second game, the O-Royals made Memphis starter Tyler Norrick pay for his free passes, as Norrick walked five in the first two innings Norrick walked in the Royals first run in the first, then his wildness led to a sac fly to give Omaha a quick 2-0 lead.
John Wasdin relieved Norrick and the Royals extended their lead to 3-1 on a wild pitched. Memphis would add another run, but Greg Atencio picked up the win in relief for Omaha with 31/3 innings of work.
The teams wrap up the first half of the Pacific Coast League season today at 1:35 p.m. Omaha will send Carlos Rosa (4-2, 4.32 ERA) against Mitchell Boggs (6-1, 3.14).
