A wanted fugitive from Cheyenne County has been caught on the West Coast. Sheriff Darrell Johnson says 44 year old William Drinkard of California was arrested on June 6th in that state and will face charges in Nebraska. That will happen after he’s finished being prosecuted on unnamed charges in California according to Johnson. Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says Drinkard has multiple warrants for arrest locally for failing to appear in a felony drug case. He was arrested by Nebraska State Troopers on December 4, 2006 for speeding on I-80. A search of his vehicle turned up 4,600 grams of marijuana and 324 grams of methamphetamine according to an arrest affidavit.
