WWII veteran dies after visiting memorial

The final moments of Donald Dragoo’s life were spent with fellow World War II veterans in Washington D-C seeing the monument dedicated to these brave war heroes.  Dragoo was a passenger on the Heartland Honor Flight with 116 other Nebraska veterans.  The group toured a number of attractions in D-C and was flying back home to Lincoln when Dragoo passed away.  His daughter accompanied Dragoo on the trip and she said it had been wonderful day and they had enjoyed the experience together.  Dragoo was 91 years of age and in poor health.  He was scheduled to make the trip earlier this year but cancelled due to pneumonia.  Funeral services are pending.
