A 74 year old nursing home resident is safe after she was stuck in an elevator for five hours. Leola Daniels is a resident at the Florence Home Healthcare Center in Omaha. The search for Daniels started when she did not show up in the dining room for the noon meal. Family was called around 2 o’clock on Sunday to inform them that the woman was missing. Around 5pm, a kitchen worker reported that the elevator was not working. The nursing home director believes that Daniels got on to the elevator and then pushed the stop button while it was moving. She followed directions to get the elevator moving again but the doors had to be forced open. Daniels walked out of the elevator by herself but was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
