Phelps rolls, Torres makes Olympic team

Michael Phelps continues to dominate at the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials by setting another world record (1:54.80) in winning the Men’s 200 IM.  Ryan Lochte finished in second (1:55.22), giving the 200 the same finish these two guys had at the 400 IM. The previous WR in the men’s 200 IM was 1:54.98.

Aaron Piersol tied Ryan Lochte’s world record at (1:54.32) as he won the Men’s 200 Back.  Lochte finished in second just .02 behind.
 
41 year old Dara Torres will make her fifth Olympic team by winning (53.78) the Women’s 100 Freestyle with Natalie Coughlin coming in second at (53.38).
 
In other swim news, Rebecca Soni won the Women’s 200 meter breaststroke with Amanda Beard coming in second.  This will be Beard’s fourth Olympics.   Michael Phelps (51.10) finished the fastest in the Men’s 100
 
Fly semifinals.  Ben Wildman-Tobriner was fastest in the Men’s 50 Free semis and Elizabeth Beisel was best in the Women’s 200 Back semis.
