Mike Parisi, Memphis Redbirds starter from last night continued to dominate at the AAA level moving to 6-1 on the year as Memphis beat Omaha 4-2 at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Parisi spent time with the St. Louis Cardinals, but struggled with the big league squad, but held the Royals hitters in check going 7.2 innings before Omaha finally chased him in the bottom of the 8th.
After getting two outs in the 8th, Parisi ran out of gas as the Royals got three straight singles to break the shutout. Jason Smith, the recent all-star selection singled in the second run of the inning off Jason Motte who replaced Parisi. Brian Buchanan struck out ending the threat.
Brandon Duckworth took the loss to fall to 8-3 giving up three runs on six hits including two home runs in seven innings of work. The O-Royals have lost five in a row and seven of their last eight.
