Bond raised on Lincoln soccer coach accused of abuse

A total of eleven young men have come forward accusing former UNL professor and Lincoln Northeast boys soccer coach 57 year old Sanford Kaplan of sexual assault. Kaplan is accused of blindfolding, binding and then suspending the boys from the rafters of a garage in what he described as a “game” to free themselves. The boys were between the ages of 10 and 16 at the time. Kaplan was in court Monday. He is charged with child abuse, false imprisonment and five counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child. Bond was raised to $200,000.
