The mayhem is underway in Omaha today. It is the annual 4th of July concert at Memorial Park in the midtown area. Several years ago, people started setting up for the event days in advance. The Omaha Parks Department complained that the blankets and tents destroyed the grass so the city established limits as to when people would be allowed in the park. It was dark this (Friday) morning when James Lowery III started setting up his chairs, table and cooler. Fifty-thousand people are expected at the park for tonight’s event. The concert features Night Wing, 38-Special and Kool and the Gang. The show starts at six and there is a spectacular fireworks show at 10pm.
