Plea Deal For Woman Transporting Ward Of The State

A woman who was transporting a ward of the state from Omaha to Lincoln has reached a plea deal.  25 year old Denise Thompson was arrested in February on drunken driving charges and negligent child abuse.  Thompson’s blood alcohol level was nearly five times the legal limit. She was originally charged with dui and negligent child abuse.  Thompson pleaded guilty to attempted negligent child abuse and dui.  She was working for a company that had transportation contracted with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
