26-Thousand Still Without Power

Omaha Public Power District crews continue to work on restoring service to those affected by Sunday morning’s tornado.  OPPD spokesman Mike Jones says 175 crews on the streets.  At the height of the storm, 14-thousand customers were without service.  Jones is now reporting that 26-thousand customers are without electricity as of Monday morning  but they hope to have everyone on-line by Tuesday night.  Hundreds of trees were damaged in the storm and branches and the wind are to blame in downing power lines.  Jones says there is still a danger to clean-up crews as some of the downed lines could be live wires.
