If you are traveling to Omaha this weekend, obey the speed limit, use your turn signals and remember good traffic manners. The State Patrol will be watching. A special enforcement is underway today and again on Sunday where state troopers will be teaming with the Omaha Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s office to look for traffic or vehicle violations. Officers will be looking for vehicle infractions as well such as lights and turn signals out. Officers will be targeting Highway 75, the South Kennedy Freeway, Sorensen Parkway, I-480 and I-60. The effort is being funded by a grant by the National Office of Highway Safety. There are a number of events that will draw a crowd into the metro Omaha area this weekend and the roads will be especially busy.
