A 20-year-old Kimball man faces a felony motor vehicle homicide charge after the vehicle he was allegedly driving crashed and a passenger was killed. Kyle Anderson is accused of crashing five miles outside of Kimball on County Road 49 late Saturday night. Twenty-two-year-old Josh Cooley of Kimball died at a Denver hospital as a result of the crash. He leaves behind a fiancé and son.
According to Kimball law enforcement, Anderson and a third passenger, 20-year-old Craig Hoppes of Kimball, were both treated and released from local hospitals.
Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub filed the charge against Anderson after being appointed Special Prosecutor in the case.
Anderson’s bond was set at $150,000. Arraignment will be June 3.
