Local Division II baseball schools have advanced to regional play looking for a chance to play in the NCAA D-II College World Series.
The University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks look to make back to back trips to the D-II CWS, they’ll play Minnesota-State Mankato today at 3:30, the same team they beat 17-0 to win the North Central Conference tournament title this weekend. Wayne State takes on Central Missouri at noon. Both UNO and Wayne State play in Emporia, Kansas.
For the University of Nebraska-Kearney, it will be a rematch for them as the 6th seed Lopers will play Sonoma State in the West Regional in Chico, California. First pitch set for 1pm central time. The Lopers beat Sonoma last year in the first round of this regional after Sonoma came into the game ranked first in the country.
