A few more Husker football players caught on with NFL teams yesterday signing free agent contracts. Safety Tierre Green is headed to Green Bay. Receiver Frantz Hardy signed with Philadelphia and linebacker Corey McKeon will get a shot in Tampa Bay. They join cornerback Cortney Grixby who agreed to terms with Carolina, linebacker Steve Octavien with Kansas City and linebacker Lance Brandenburgh with San Francisco. Receiver Maurice Purify thought he was headed to Dallas, but that deal broke down. Still no word on quarterback Sam Keller. The only former NU players drafted were cornerback Zack Bowman, in the fifth round to Chicago; offensive tackle Carl Nicks, fifth round, New Orleans; and linebacker Bo Ruud, sixth to New England.
