Nelson asked to call other superdelegates

Senator Ben NelsonSen. Ben Nelson says the presidential campaign of Democrat Barack Obama has asked him to consider calling other superdelegates to urge their support.
Nelson says one remaining delegate is expected to make a decision shortly. Nelson is one of five Nebraska superdelegates pledged to Obama. Neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton is expected to win enough delegates from the primaries and caucuses to win the nomination.
So the nearly 800 elected officials and other party leaders known as superdelegates will decide who gets the nomination. Nelson also says that he doesn’t think the Obama-Clinton presendial primary race has yet hurt the chances for the eventual democratic victor. In fact, Nebraska US Senator Ben Nelson indicates the hardly fought Democratic primary has been a positive for the party.
