Key mid-season game tonight for Huskers

The Nebraska baseball team, off a 1-2 weekend against Oklahoma State dipped a bit in the national rankings, falling from 8th to 9th in Baseball America’s top 25 poll.
Tonight, at Haymarket Park, the Huskers (25-6-1) will host 5th ranked Wichita State (27-5).  This is a game that could have regional ranking implications even though there are six weeks left to go in the season.
As the season wears on, this head to head matchup tonight could be one of the factors in determining which school hosts an NCAA Regional tournament.
About  Wichita State Coach Gene Stephenson (1,632-538-3 at WSU) brings in his Shockers with a 27-5 record and a No. 5 ranking in this week’s poll. WSU is wrapping up a four-game road trip, as they took 2-of-3 at Creighton over the weekend. Wichita State will start redshirt freshman Tim Kelley who is 4-1 with a 4.00 ERA in six starts.
Wichita State leads the all-time series, 20-19, as last year’s win in Wichita broke the series deadlock.
